hello all.
My laptop finally died this morning. I'm in a very small city so I don't have an electronics market to visit. The newarest one may be 1.5 hours away, or even 4 hours to Seoul.
I haven't bought a computer in five years, so I don't even have any idea what the current technology is. CPU speed? Standard RAM? Graphics cards? Not a clue.
Can someone post english links for Korea so i can do some comparison shopping?
Thanks |

Check out the Tech Forum Stickies. There's one for computer websites. The best one in Korea is probably pc.danawa.com

Ok, did it. Ended up getting a computer yesterday PM.
3.4g
1024 DDR? RAM.
160 gig hard drive
cd is 5200 rpm (low, i know)
Some other stuff that was top or near top in comparison at the store, like the graphics card and vid card?
17" flat screen
windows XP home w/sp2
some extra software for video and photo editing
they threw in Starcraft too!
keyboard
mouse
headphones
1 gig mass storage device
20 blank rw cds.
1,050,000 won
It arrives this morning.....
Please tell me I got a decent, if not good deal....
Oh yeah, the computer that died yesterday morning, necessitating buying a new one. I'm typing this on it. Came in last night and wihtout thinking, pushed the on button. It worked. Didn't work about 50 times yesterday morning, including removing and reinstalling the hard drive (that worked before). Well, at least now I will be able to get my files off this computer. it would have sucked not having my baby picture screen saver. I sit and stare at that for an unhealthy amount of time. |

did you get a good deal ..?
hmmm ... best way to buy a computer is to think you got a good deal and never look back and never look what's on the market again ... as computer tends to become obsolete/depreciate so quickly
but honestly, what you got and what you paid, it seems the norm here in korea ... I've been looking around for prices as well for computer, so I kinda know a little bit ... need to get one soon as well :/ |
