i just had a rather odd experience...
doorbell rings, and having *just* gotten out of the shower, i wasn't about to answer the door, so i picked up the answerphone. "hello?" says i, "do you speak korean?" asks the guy outside my door. "not really, just a minute." throw on some clothes, and go to the door. young k-dude standing there, and he tells me he lives 2 floors down. okay...so?
he bursts in, turns off my lights and races to the window. he throws the blinds open and exclaims, "the light! i can't sleep!" across the street is a building that is extremely well-lit. it doesn't bother me, i close the blinds, and sleep in the loft, which is pretty dark. he's directly across from the lights, while i'm above them. i asked if he sleeps in his loft, he says yes, but the light still drives him crazy. i suggested he get some curtains to draw across the loft, he has no money and already two curtains. an eyemask? what can i do about it really? why is he telling me this? how about his neighbours on the same floor? very apologetic guy, he wants to call the building across the street and complain.
took all of about 2 minutes.
strange.
nice enough guy though.
and here i thought he was coming to complain about my loud music.

I would have given him a kidney punch as soon as I opened the door...then after he had sufficiently recovered from that blow...I would have invited him..taken off his shoes and served him some hot cocoa with a marshmallow on top.
