Hi all
when I was last in Korea I found a wonderful little bookstore just outside Itaewon. I don't remember the name of it, but I know where it was. THe store was usually my first stop in Itaewon. Bear with me on the directions I have a weird sense of direction.
When you are standing on the main drag of Itaewon in front of the Hamilton and KFC (if it's still there), walk twoards Yongsan and the big blue metal arch over the road. When you get to that large corner turn right so you are looking towards Namsan tower on the hill. Walk that direction around the hill till you get to the Land Rover store (or at least it was). There is a little hole in the wall used bookstore that has a little bit of everything fiction, non-fiction, technical teaching books, children's book, travel books and occasional foreign language books.
Can let me know if the store I am talking about is still there?
Thanks

Yep, still there. But it's a Lexus dealership next to it. |

Woo hoo, thanks!
I love that store. I should be back in Korea around the 28th or so. I will probably be in Itaewon within about 2 weeks or so after that. I will probably spend a good chunk of money there again |

Name is simply "book". Its still there, cheap, and every purchase comes with either grape juice or ginseng. |

yup I remember that too, the man who works there (the owner?) always tried to give my firend and I the little cans of juice. Like I said earlier, I'm glad it's still there. I picked up some good Ling books and personal reading books there. The selection was ok for the genres I read but it was just nice to have selection of books in English without having to wade through a sea of humanity like I always met at Kyobo. |

Glad I could help someone else find the store. I found a book that I bought there years ago and still use. He puts a stamp in the back with the address and other contact info.
It's not the greatest picture but I will write what it says below
Foreign Book Store. All kinds of Books. Since 1973. We Sell, Buy & Trade. Tel:(02) 793-8249. Choi _________ (the stamp is illegible for the rest of his name). Subway 6Line Noksapyeong. #533 Itaewon-dong. yongsan-gu, Seoul, Korea.
I don't know how current this information is but you can give it a try. |
