And then the next question is.....

Why don't they fire the ass who is ultimately responsible for Guantanamo and also denying others the right to an attorney, representation and to know of their accuser and accusations of guilt.

So beyond me....really is.

Because if you fire him, Dick Cheney takes over. It is like killing Palpatine to put Vader in Charge. It might be best to just ride it out.

These groups are right. What Charles Stimson said does challenge basic rights to legal defense. Publishing names in an attempt to damage business is pretty low. It makes Stimson look like he doesn't believe the government's case against the detainees is strong enough to win in a fair trial.

Instead of holding them as criminals they should be held as POWs.

Then they can be held until the cessation of hostilities.

They are not on trial, do you inderstand the reasons they are being held? It's no longer a black and white "you're either a POW or a criminal" Just as the rules of war have changed.
