I'm looking to book a flight to Korea and I was wondering if the international carriers still provided free booze on the flight. It's not a huge concern, but I know that many domestic carriers have started charging for them and I didn't know if Asiana, Korean Air, or Singapore airlines still provided them. Don't know about the rest of you, but after my 10th hour on an airplane with 10 more to go, I need a drink more than Bush needs an exit strategy.

Also, aside from just the drinks, is one airline better than another (comfort, punctuality, food, etc.)?

Virtually all airlines except Russian Aeroflot give free booze on international flights.

If you're coming in from Canada, even those cheap bastards at Air Canada give free alcohol on international flights.

Northwest doesn't provide free drinks, other than soft drinks.

The only international airline I've used in the past 30 years that doesn't serve free drinks is Continental.

B.A seems to be rather frequent with their booze cart for which I heartily salute them!

In that context, neither do Saudia, Kuwait Airways, Iran Air or Pakistain Airways.

But that's not the debate.

I flew Northwest late last year back to the U.S. and wasn't charged for beer/wine, although they may charge for liquor.

Seconded

I took a BA flight from Marseilles to London and they came round at least three times on that short flight.

We are talking free beer and wine, right? I think that is all that is offered free on most of the above listed airlines. I like Singapore and Thai airways for free beer, wine, snacks, meal quality and over all comfort.

Korean Air has free booze also. I was in the center seat on my trip here, and so just couldn't get comfortable enough to fall asleep, so I drank some wine (free...hurray!). Wine makes me sleepy, so soon enough I was sleeping peacefully.
