If anyone is looking to try taekwondo in the Ilsan area, I have been going to the Jae H. Kim Taekwondo school in Daehwa and I would HIGHLY recommend it. The Korea teachers there are extremely freindly, as are the students. It is a very reputable school, started by a Korean in Boston, and has branched out all over the world, including Ilsan. Recently, the school has sent a teacher from their Boston school who is originally Korean but is fluent in English, so it makes communication much easier. Best of all, the price is almsot HALF what i have seen other taekwondo schools charging. They are really interested in getting foreigners to sign up since the new instructor arrived, and it is a great place to meet people, foreign or korean. If you are interested at all drop me a line, or check out the website (althought the Ilsan page is all korean)
The address is http://www.tkd-boston.com/ It is located right in Daehwa between the subway station and Kintex. Classes are weekdays at 12:30pm, 8:30pm, and 9:30pm and you can go as many times as you want.....which is amazing. They even have a saturday class at 2:30. The more people who wanna join the merrier. |

| Why not take Hapkido, something that you can actually use in a self defense situation? It goes from long distance all the way to takedown and submission. Taekwondo, though it may be fun, isn't all that practical unless you're just looking for recreation. |

| Yeah, i have taken both. They are both fun, i find this to be excellent recreation, they speak english, and it is cheap, i'm not looking to get in street fights, so this works for me. I;m just posting to let people out there know of the place, i found it hard to find a good place, and this is a really good one. I found it through word of mouth, so hopefully getting in the web will spread the word : ) |

| There's a great Hap Ki Do "do-jo" (I forget what it's called in Korea) in the Daehwa area, just a 5 or 6 blocks after Juyeop station, heading toward Daehwa, before Lotte Mart. I'm a blue belt there, although I haven't gone this month. PM me, and I'll give you some more details. |
