Korea is at War!

Heard about the the town that dares defy two nation's militaries?
The U.S. army in Pyeongtaek wants to build golf courses on a nearby
village, but the current residents aren't playing ball.
So, the government sent in the troops.

January 27th, 4pm
Strange Fruit Cafe, Hongdae (directions at seoulidarity.net)
presented by "seoulidarity: Radical Language Xchange!"

"Daechuri War" documents violent attacks, demolitions, and the struggle
a farming village currently fighting for survival.
Discussion afterwards with the filmmaker, Il-gun Jung (Pureun Film
Production)

The government and the public agree the US troops should leave Yongsan but want them to stay in the country. That's a problem. The government has to pre-empt land someplace and a farm area disrupts the lives of the fewest number of people.

Which is more important: a few acres of farmland or national security?
