When I was backpacking around Europe, I realized how much money I could've saved by using the ISIC card. Is this also true throughout Asia? I am planning to travel throughout Asia soon and am considering buying the card, so any help would be great! |

Except for perhaps a few of the hostels in large asian cities, it would largely be ignored here.
Accomodation and travel here in asia are by and large a lot cheaper than Europe as well.
3* hotels in Beijing and Shanghai run about US$25.
4* in the Philippines or Thailand are around the same price.
Most other countries are even cheaper for accomodation.
Ferry tickets in most of SE asia run less than $10 (and often less than $3) for most boats unless you want a stateroom or 1st class accomodations or it is a high speed boat (jetfoil, jetboat or catamaran type).
I have never seen or heard of anyplace here offering a discount for it (and that includes the airline and rail systems everywhere except Japan (for which I have no clue).
