The Ugly Truth About Cell Phones

What you don't know might kill you ...

Cell Phones (hand-held mobile phones) Emit Microwave Radiation
Cell (mobile) phones emit radiation in the microwave frequency range. Just as microwave radiation can cook food at high levels, it causes damage to human tissue and DNA at low levels. Repeated exposure to microwave radiation can cause severe and long-lasting damage, however, it might take years for the damage to produce noticable symptoms.

It is only in recent human history that any living being has been exposed to significant microwave radiation.

igotthisguitar,

Actually, they just did a few studies in Denmark or Norway I think, that proved that cell phone radiation did not in fact seem to cause the damage you describe, whatever radiation it emits. The study found that people with tumours and other forms of brain cancer did not seem to have gotten these diseases from cell phones. So the idea that cell phones cause tumours and long-term damage seems to be getting disproven though of course I would still say that it remains to be seen. Like you said in your post, this is the first time that people have been exposed to this kind of radiation over a long period so we'll have to see what happens. To say that they cause all kinds of problems is really just irresponsible simply because, as you put it, this is a new situation for mankind. I don't really think we can judge exactly what long term effects cell phones MAY or MAY NOT have on us and our bodies until another 15-20 years have passed and we get to examine people who have used cell phones all their lives.

This is going to be a gooooood year (school year that is...). Very Happy

The truth about treadmills...

Man, those things are boring. Even if there's TV, radio, a window to look outside, and a massive fight going on out there, I'm still bored to tears.

the truth about Orangutans:

I AM THE ONE TRUE LORD AND MASTER OF ALL ORANGUTAN THE OLD MAN OF THE FOREST
Long ago in my youth I was a Crusader and Viking on the path of the Sea Stalker I didst pause to train with the Singapore Commandos therein I did Realize MY TRUE NOBILITY. For it was there that I ascended to the upper canopies to a Leaf House Crafted for the Former Lord of Orangutans, We joined in the wrestling. A Mass a clash that shook the heavens and twisted roots of trees made before the Fall. Shocked Shocked It was there I shewed mine True BEOWULF Grappling strength and bowing in Defeat the Old Man Of the Forest declared ME

THE NEW LORD OF MONKEYS Exclamation Shocked

Oh and I got a hookup from a Cell Phone Manager so I only pay 100 Won a minute HA HA!!! It pays to be The Baron of Toad Hall. Embarassed

So, a scientific study was done in some Scandanavian country countering evidence that cell phones are dangerous. - I'm sure Scandanavian cell phone giant Nokia didn't try to influence their findings in any way. Rolling Eyes

Finland has been the #1 cleanest country to do business in for the past, oh, decade or so. I doubt it.

another article from the same site

http://www.psygeria.com/articles/reality.php

Quote:
Is Reality Really Real?

Is our world real or just some kind of virtual reality? Are we merely plugged into some kind of machine that simulates a physical world?

...
...

Consider the evidence -

* There is a healing technique called Quantum Touch (QT) that can instantaneously realign bones. Even the bones of a person's skull can be reshaped within seconds. Qigong practitioners also defy physical laws and are able to reduce the effects of gravity, move solid objects through other solid objects, start fires with only the eyes...

I think I'll stick with the scientific study, even if it is from a scandinavian country.

Mith's (correct) comments about Finland notwithstanding, what makes you think a Finnish company would have any influence at all on Norwegian or Danish researchers?

(Hint: Norway's nearer Sweden (home of Ericsson) than Finland (unless you're heading North Pole-wards), and last time I checked the phone company with the biggest presence in Denmark was Siemens).

Do you lump together Korea, Japan and China as "some Asian country" too? Jings, it's a good job you didn't try suggesting there's no difference between Finns and Swedes... Twisted Evil

Whoever referred to the "scientific studies" was uncertain as to whether they were done in "Norway or Denmark." So, I presumed that she (?) had at least narrowed it down to some Scandanavian country. Human nature is such that everyone has a tendency to cheat, and big businesses tend to cheat bigtime - if they can get away with it. Scientists are also known to sell their services to the highest bidder, and statistics can be skewed to prove anything. Not that I much care one way-or-the other regarding cell phones or differences between Swedes and Finns. The illusory energy that fuels materialism is very powerful...(Hey, I think I'm on the wrong thread... Shocked )
