I'm curious if that really accomplishes much. The system bus stays the same speed doesn't it?

How couldn't it be beneficial (if it were practical)? It's like dropping an 8GHz CPU in your system.

You'd still have one huge of a bottleneck at the bus. The cpu can't move the info around any faster. Like waiting in line with a bunch of crank in your system. Sure your heart beats faster, and you're twitching, but you aren't moving forward faster.

Anyways, maybe the system bus speed up as well. i'd have to research it, but i doubt it.

In the end, the speed of the clock is just that. If there's no improvment on the other components -- what's the point. If you could speed a Pentium II up to 4 Ghz, you'd still have th slowest, crappiest computer around.

You could say the same thing about drinking 4 bottles of beer vs 12 bottles of beer. The end result is still an obnoxious stupid drunk person.

There's an idea. About 10 minutes of "research" and you will see what you should have been saying.
