Taken from "The Australian" website:
Quote:
THE comedy about Australia's suburban foxy-morons, Kath and Kim, is set to be translated for American television audiences.
American network NBC has announced it will film a pilot for a localised version of the hit show, News Ltd reports.

South Park writer Nancy Pimental has penned the American adaptation.

Filming is expected to begin soon.

The Australian sitcom follows in the footsteps of other US adaptations of successful foreign shows, including Britain's The Office.

I'll be interested to see the result.

I used to bemoan US TV remaking everything that worked elsewhere, until The Office carried on the greatness of the UK series.

I'm looking forward to an Yank Kaf and Kim.

I reckon "Kath and Kim" was a classic show. Coming from the suburbs myself it really resonated. One of the few Aussie TV shows I made a point of watching.

All that other rubbish you peeps have mentioned ie. Today Tonight etc. is absolute tripe and I would never put myself in a position to watch it. I'd rather read the Courier Mail and that is saying something.

Redneckvision vs boganvision, not sure which one I despise more. Don't even get me started on Ten. Kath and Kim, ditto.

God I hated Australian TV.

Big Brother made "stars" of people whose claim to fame was having a tug under the covers.Aussie TV makes NZ TV look good. It's that woeful.

Who was that cvnt that was always yelling?Rove....??Should be kneecapped as a warning to others.

The best thing about Aussie TV was Sandra Sulley flashing cleavage on the 10 news.

I do miss SBS though.Especially the late night world cinema.

I'm an Aussie.

Kath and Kim is embarrassingly bad.

But so is TV in general...
