Hi,

Started a great new job. Im on 2.5 for working 2-8pm. However in the contract, health insurance is taken at 1.5% and tax is taken as 5%. Is this right?

I have been told that tax should be about 3.3.

Any help on this?

Medical insurance is 2.48%, pension is 4.5% and (depending on your deductions) tax is about 1.7-2%.

Something does NOT smell good about your contract.

It's not right. The medical insurance should be around 2.4% and your tax should be around 2%. And what about your pension? Pension should be 4.5%

5% tax is way way too much.

Here you go.

http://www.nta.go.kr/eng/default.html

click on the "Check your monthly with holding" and type in "2500" since it's in thousands.

Your tax withholding is 70,790 won per month.

Use this number, 02 397 1436 this will get you a Mr.Kim (don't laugh) at the tax office. I used him the very first day I arrived at my job ,had my Boss talk to him on the phone he backed me up told them I am suppose to pay 1.6% instead of the 4% they wanted and it worked.

Similar question...My co-workers were told yesterday that the health insurance was going up from 2.24% to 2.3% starting soon, but they don't know when. Anyone else heard of that?
