Looking at the visa application form it asks if I have ever had a visa issued for Korea before.

I have mentioned before that I had four years ago but I ran away due to various reasons.

So do I lie on the form and say I've never had a visa or do I say I have?

What have other ex-midnight runners done in this situation? Told a lie or come clean?

How good are their records?

I told the truth and had no problems. If it's been more than a year, you'll be okay. You might want to make sure you get the visa in your home country first, just to make sure there are no problems.

My advice - don't lie. There are a lot of us who "ran" and returned. The important thing is knowing how things will be different this time around.

just interested in whether all you people who ran and have since returned paid back your initial airfare? i'm nearing the 3 month mark of a hideous job (director continue to screw me over, and although i was planning on giving my notice, i'm not ruling out running in a couple of months. Either way, I would like to return to Korea in 08/09

no no, it's just I've been teaching a while and wouldn't mind taking a break for the rest of this year back home.
