There is a used bookshop near the Kyobo Building in Gwanghwamun. It's run by the charity "Beautiful Store". They accept donated books and re-sell them at low prices, normally 1000 to 3000 Won. There is a small selection of English books.

They also have a whole load of vinyl for sale. I'm sure you could pick up tons of stuff there.

Directions are as follows: Come out of Kyobo Books and go through that little alley beside Burger King. At the end of the alley, turn left and walk up about 20 meters. The bookshop is on the 3rd floor of the Cheong-Jin Building (청진빌딩). On the 2nd floor of this building is a bar called "The Bar". There is a big sign for it ("The Bar") on the front of the building.

website for the charity is: www.bstore.org

This store sells decks >>http://djshop.co.kr/

If you spin hip hop you will find plenty of it in Purple Records in Hongdae. Unfortunately the pickings are very, very slim when it comes to anything else. They've got some old second hand stuff as well but the prices are a bit steep. I'm yet to find anyone who knows of a good record store in this town. I think it's a case of getting out your credit card and ordering stuff from overseas. That's what I do anyway. There's plenty of good online stores allowing you to do this.

Cool...a second hand vinyl store. I'll have to go check it out for some sample hunting. Do you know whether they have a turntable set up for pre listening purposes?

I hear there is also a second hand store in the Hongdae area which sells second hand vinyl. Anyone know if it exists and where it is?

They do indeed have a turntable which plays music in the shop. I assume that a person could use that one for pre-listening. They may have another turntable set up for pre-listening. I guess my answer is: I don't know.
But, I'll certainly check it out the next time I'm in there.
