Are you looking for a new motivator for your writing students?
You might be interested in having work written by your students published in the Korea Herald. This month (January) I started publishing a column, Chang-moon, in the Life & Community section every Wednesday. So far, the columns have been speeches written by my students. In the future we are hoping to publish other work written by other students.
The work does not need to be perfect or wonderfully written. We are looking for stories or essays that tell about life in Korea. The topic and style are open: stories about life, advice, opinions, etc.
To have a story published will not require any work from the teacher beyond suggesting to a student to e-mail me their work at the address at the bottom of each column. If you want, your name and/or your schools name can be printed in the column. I think the possibility of seeing their work published in the newspaper would be a great motivator for many students, as well as good advertising for schools and the teacher.
If you want more details, PM me and Ill be happy to tell you what you want to know. (The columns are only up for a week and not available after that, but I can send you copies of the columns that have appeared so far.)
PS: Thanks to Dave for giving me permission to post this ad |
