1. Before starting a war and sending 19 years old soldiers to countries they know nothing about, any politician that signs in favor of war must enlist their sons and daughters and send them FIRST.

2. Any fukking Korean taxi that does not stop on Red Light must be fined at least twice the normal rate. I am actually afraid of crossing a street late at night because of those fukking taxis.

3. All bus drivers must learn how to accelerate and put on brake in slow fashion. I don't know how many times I almost fell down riding a bus in Korea.

4. I don't know anything about English Hagwon but I think Korean government should establish law that permits only hagwon owners who have at least $500k in cash reserve to initially operate a hagwon. There are way too many "let's make a quick buck" mindset among potential hagwon owners. Sadly, most of this "let's make a quick buck" applies to English teacher too (actually more so, since they dont have to stay in Korea)

5. Your suggestion, especially in regard to "English Hagwon" is welcome.

I'm with you on the politicians and traffic things. Seoul would be a much more pleasant place to live if the traffic laws were enforced and the taxi and bus drivers learned to drive in a way that suits their passengers. Not themselves. Especially my pet peeve......motorcycles on the sidewalk. That's got to go. It's so third-worldy.

Hagwon owners needing 500k in reserve before they open a hagwon? It would be nice of course. Don't think it's feasible though. There will always be mom and pop operations run on a shoestring.

And normal people not needing that much in reserve to rent an apartment would be cool too.

What about a law stating that politicians can't enact any new laws for a while until they repeal some of the more ridiculous, nanny-state ones?

Dude, have you ever heard of grammatical devices like articles and the proper use of the present simple? It's like hearing a Russian speak.

Before you throw stones, let's hear a bit of your Korean. Give the guy a break and if you feel the need to post, at least add to the topic jerk.

At any rate,of late, they couldn't convince people that car baby seats were a good idea.

From his post, I presume he's not Korean. This is after all, a teaching English website. One would hope that a teacher (as I presume he/she is based on the hagwon comments) would have a basic grasp of articles and the present simple.

It's like watching those "English" teaching Drama programs on Korean TV where all the actors are Russians speaking butchered English, or visiting America city and having my Korean students correcting the "English" of the teachers. Geez.

Here are a couple things I'd like to see gone tomorrow:

1) national ID numbers
2) prohibition on tattooing

They are already dumping the law regulating the length of miniskirts which is good. Another one they got rid of long ago was a law against any sort of kissing on the subway/in subway stations. That one didn't even make sense. How many more silly laws does Korea have? A lot I'm sure.

If all Korean English teachers could write at the OP's level I'd be delighted. Then again I might be out of a job.
