We're in love with love motels--they don't have those in California! We've been teaching in Ulsan since September and have finally carved out a few days for our first trip to Seoul. It's a scouting trip, so we're planning to visit all the popular foreigner hangout spot and would love some love motel recommendations for any of those areas (Itaewon, Hongik vic., "downtown," etc.) Tell us which ones you REALLY love, and why! Thanks!

I stayed in the Max Hotel in Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam-gu for two or three nights last July. It's not a luxury love motel, but it was pretty interesting. Rooms start at 70,000 won per night. Each floor has a different nationality theme. There's a China room, an India room, a Japan room, an America room, a Korea room, a Europe room, and a Spain room. I stayed in the Spain room, but if I'm ever in the area again I'd like to check out the China room. The room I was in had the usual: big bathroom, TV, DVD/VCR combo, small fridge, toiletries, and also a computer.

Yeoksam is one subway stop away from Gangnam Station, a popular foreigner area. There are tons of motels along the Gangnam-Yeoksam-Seolleung corridor, but there weren't any vacancies when I checked in July.

the rainbow hotel beside namyeoung station is great. we've stayed there twice. the rooms are small, but clean & most have free internet access. its popular with US military as its just beside camp kim.
rooms have mirrored ceilings in bathroom, condom machines & free porn. if you like that kind of thing!
55won for double room. can't go wrong.
