|

My wife and I are looking for an apartment or house to rent in northern Seoul, circa lines 1, 4, or 7, north of Taerung. We are looking for a 2 or more bedroom place as we are expecting an addition to the family in the near future. We have looked into renting an apartment similar to the one we are living in now, highrise, only larger, but 20-30 million deposit and still close to
a million a month rent isn't my idea of a good deal.
We were wondering if anyone knew of anyone who knows of, or where to look, for an apartment in a low rise/house, or a house itself for a bit of a better deal ie less deposit, or lower rent. I get the impression that realtors don't want anything to do with these kinds of places as they don't make much cash from them.
I read of people living in places for 500-800 thousand a month with 1-2 million deposit etc for a 2 bedroom. Am I dreaming, or is that possible where I want to live?
Any help is appreciated.

Thanks for that korea252. That was exactly the kind of site I was looking for. I browsed through the pages and found most of the places are in Itaewon. I guess if the price is right I will have to travel. I'll see if they have anything for the northern part of Seoul.

i used to live in dobong-gu, near ssangyong station. people there said it had the cheapest rent in seoul. (i believe it!) met two guys who shared a 2 bedroom apartment for 6-700,000, with 1 million down.
anyway, changdong station in dobong-gu connects line 1&4, and nowon station (lines 4&7) is one stop away.
you might be better off using one of (the many) real estate offices in the neighborhoods if you want to compare.
good luck! |

Thanks Kalkamagi. I will speak with some of the local realtors and see what we can come up with.
