Has anyone ever taught English to young beginners, using ASL?

I always thought it would be a cool way for kids to "kill two languages with one thought". It would also serve as a great introduction into another kind of subculture/disability and way of seeing the world. Also a very useful tool for them later in life, no matter how little they learn.

I'd love any thoughts about doing this in the classroom. I just made an alphabet powerpoint which illustrates both the alphabet and the ASL alphabet, as well as offering some simple expressions (thank you, come/go, help etc....). Found at

http://www.esnips.com/doc/2a9371dd-6566-429e-90ae-d148e160dec4/Lets-sign-the-ALPHABET!

Or click on my presentation button, on my website.

I know someone who has done extensive research on this and does teach ASL in Korea (she is from the US of A, obviously..).

PM me if you want to know more.
