How much money do I need to find a place to live in Seoul? My new job doesn't provide housing but gives a 500k housing allowance. (No key money)
Ideally I'd like to live in one of those little houses or villas or whatever they're called with either a roof terrace/garden. I will be working in the NW corner of Jongro. So I'd like to live round that way or maybe near Hongje station.
The only website I've looked at is Eden realty but all his properties are around Itaewon. I gather that area is cheaper than a lot of other parts of Seoul. I saw some decent places on that site for 2m deposit and about 400k a month. I probably won't have any more than 2m for a housing deposit until I get my severance etc. from my current job.
So what could I hope to get for 2m and 500k around Hongje or NW Jongro?
I might end up living a month in a goshiwon or something, then I'd have about 5m to put down as a deposit instead.
Can anyone point me to any websites listing properties in parts of Seoul other than Itaewan? (Korean is OK) |
