Im wondering if anyone has come across any Korean or Japanese online shopping sites that are in English? Im looking to buy a laptop but want to find a sales person who can chat in detail with me about the specs.

Thanks.

Go to Yongsan first. You can find a few shops with people who speak decent English.

Compare the products, write down their model number, then buy it online..

Gmarket finally has an English site, though I don't think they offer a sales rep to speak to as such.

The prices are very competitive, even to Yongsan, for example a 250GB external hard disk is going for 97,000 Won.

the address is http://global.gmarket.co.kr/

it doesn't have everything that the Korean version has, but when you search, you can include an option to search the Korean site also.

Gmarket's "Global" site was not set up as a favour for foreigners living in Korea.

However, foreigners are able to register for the Korean site anyway, here: http://www.gmarket.co.kr/challenge/neo_member/member_registration_fp.asp
(very funny that you should agree to the Terms and Conditions in Korean!)
