Does anyone know if it's possible for foreigners to order travelers cheques from Korean banks. I have an account with KB.

| Thanks B.B. I'll be using them in Thailand. Do you think there will be any problems cashing travelers cheques there which were issued in Korea? |

| nope. They'll most likely be either American Express or Visa T/C (KB used to use American Express and KEB used Visa in the past, don't know now). |

Go with AMEX cheques and you'll be good as gold anywhere in the world. Doesn't matter where they're issued from.
A bit of advice, though...email the serial numbers of the cheques to yourself. If you lose the cheques and the reciept that comes with them, you can use the serial numbers and your passport to get them reissued in a reasonable amount of time. |

I buy Travelers Checks at KB, American Express. Last time I bought them at the airport.
I photo copy the checks and the bank receipts. I use them all over. Never once had a problem.
When Isend money home I even use them. Sure beats a wire transfer. |
