Does anyone know how long it takes to process a multiple re-entry visa?
I did it once before, and left my passport at the immigration office. I didn't see it for several weeks, but I have a feeling my old hakwon director may have just been hanging on to it.....
I finished my camps last week, and have been too sick to leave my apartment for the first few days of the week.
I have to go to immi tomorrow, so hopefully someone who has done this can reply.
Thanks
(I posted this on travel too.....sorry) |

Last time a KT did the same day he got my visa renewed. The time before immi did it on the spot in the office. |

Really? They have the full page stamps at every office? Sorry, I know that sound sooooo yokel, but when I did this before, my honored master...er sorry, hakwon director explained what a complicated process it was, and I didn't see my passport for so long I was starting to wonder if I was in trouble....
My school sent me an email this morning saying I could leave next friday, as opposed to two and a half weeks from now....so gotta move fast....
thanks...
Ah, one more question.....what documents did you need to take with you?
I plan on taking everything...and I mean everything. (It's about two hours from door to door)
Can anybody else share their experience? |

Well, last year - January of 2006, I believe - I got a KT to take me to Masan Immigration, gave them my passport, ARC, and W60,000 (or was it W80,000?), and they did it on the spot. |

You can do it at the airport if you have a free hour. |
Only a single re-entry visa can be done at the airport. |

Multi re-entry is done at your local immigration office - while you wait.
The cost is 50k won.
You need your ARC, passport and a filled in application form.
Single re-entry can be done at the airport.
Hours are 6:30am - 10:00pm. The office is down a hallway behind the check in counters (F or G).
Done while you wait.
Cost is 30k won.
You need your ARC, passport and application form. |

I did a multi-entry recently at the Mason office for a 10,000 won revenue fee. It took 10 days. My director went back and picked up my passport and alien card yesterday for me. I am an American citizen which means automatic multi-entry visa. One word of advice, I do not believe I could had dealt with immigration alone, so it is necessary to have your director or other Korean business person go with you. Bad attitudes in the immigration office... |

Whoa! The Mason's are in charge of immigration now? I can see why you wouldn't want to deal with immigration alone! |

Do you mean your original visa, which was multiple-entry, or adding a multiple-entry to an already-existing single-entry visa? No way the latter should take 10 days! |

Americans do NOT get a multi-re-entry sticker... their visa is already multiple re-entry.
The 10,000 won you paid was for your ARC.
The OP is Canadian and his multi re-entry sticker/permit is 50k won.
Brits get it free but have to apply for it.
Yanks have a multi-re-entry visa.
Fill in the forms and pay the fee. You don't even need to speak to the agent, the form is bi-lingual and they read the form, not listen to you anyway. |

I see how it works now as it was confusing that we were going to get a visa when I had already did that with a Korean consulate in the states. My director told me it would cost 60,000 Won before she took me to go apply for my ARC. Turned out it only costed 10,000 Won, I was happy about that. She was thinking for a moment I was Canadian. |
