Hey all,
My departure date has suddenly come up! I was going to try to get to the dentist over here (states) before leaving, but now I don't know if I will have enough time. I know I need a filling...
Has anyone been to a dentist in Seoul? What are the costs compared to U.S.? I will have 50% "health" coverage once I'm over there, if that helps at all?!?!
I appreciate your help! |

went to the dentist on Monday, it cost me $90 for a check up and a teeth cleaning. The dentist studied in the states and has very good english as well as some of his staff.

| My dentist is Rhee Jong Hoon in Eastern Seoul. At Janghanpyeong station on line 5. He took my wisdom teeth out for $20 and replaced my old amalgam fillings with porcelain ones for $50. Though his staff don't speak english he does and used to do dental work with the USFK. |

| If you have national health insurance a filling is covered - you pay a user fee of about 3.50 USD. |

| I've had a total of 18 appointments in the past three months for some really complicated work and have paid about $78 (US) total. That included four small xrays and one xray of my whole mouth, two weeks of prescription antibiotics and painkillers, and a root canal. Both the regular dentist and the endodontist that I go to speak English, and the endodontist went to school in London. I'm very pleased with the dental care here. PM me if you need more information. |
