Hello,

My Hakwon contract expires the week before summer vacation. My bosses would like for me to extend my contract to after vacation.

I could save an extra $2.000 by extending by contract. However, how much more could I save if I signed up and burned myself out at a summer camp.

Thanks,

VI.

Depends on the camp. If you`re just looking for the most money possible, sleep-away type camps will pay an average of 0.75 to 1.0 mil KRW per week. Look for the 1 mil per week camps. They tend to be better anyway, although there are more applicants so the competition is a little bit stiffer.

The smaller local hakwon-run camps and/or elementary school camps usually pay less, but the hours and stress is a lot less too. For one month I think that 2.5 mil is the norm, but there`s a big pay range and a big range of required hours.

If you really love your boss Rolling Eyes then you should find the highest-paying camp that you can that has similar hours & responsibilities, then ask him to match that price. I`m betting it will be more than 2.0.
