BEIJING: They have huddled with the North Koreans in Berlin, talked tough in Beijing and played cat-and-mouse at the UN in New York. Now the US's nuclear negotiators are staring failure in the face.

That's the problem. A blockade of Chinese ships would risk confrontation with the PRC and do nothing to stop the influx of aid over land from Manchuria.
Clearly, though, Lil' Kim is trying to blackmail the West into giving him oil.
I don't trust him for one moment but liberals believe that if you're patient and reasonable enough even a dictator will cave in. Right, BigBird? |
