If this is already a sticky then please post the link. My co-worker can't get a good answer for anyone soon enough to do him any good. The other thread is a bit incoherent...they go from telling you to go to your nearest cop shop to telling you to go somewhere near Namdaemun. Also, their thread seems to suggest that this would be the method to acquire a domestic CHIR, not a your one from your country of origin. Not very helpful.

I've heard you can write, sign, and have notarized at your embassy an affidavit that discloses your criminal history (or lack there of). I probably go it wrong, the threads that had the most useful content have either been moved or spontaneously dematerialized.

What's the quickest way to do this? Most convenient would be good too.

How you get your CHIR depends on where you are from.

If you are from the states, then each state has it's own rules and methods. I'm not going to post 50 odd links here, you can search for your own state.
IF you need an FBI CHIR (federal) from the states then that is different again.

If you are from Canada and want a full CHIR from the RCMP then one should contact the RCMP Canada office in Ottawa for information and forms. One of the requirements is to have your fingerprints done in Korea, which can be done at a local police station. Once you get your fingerprints done, you will have to send it with your personal information to the RCMP office in Ottawa by mail or by courier. More information is available http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/crimrec/finger2_e.htm#Obtain .

I don't know about the UK, AUS or NZ. Sorry.

UK

Go to the Met website or your local area police website.

You can apply for a letter from them costs 10quid and all it says is that you have no recorded convictions or prosecutions.

nothing else.

it should do as I have used one for Korea.
