I can't believe I'm such a wimp.

I've lived in Arizona for the past eight years, just got back to Seoul this month and have had the hardest time adjusting to the cold weather. Battled the flu for the past three weeks. Ugh. Can't wait for summer to come...

Really, SuperFly? I lived in Arizona for seven years and I think the sub-freezing temps in the winter translated pretty well to Korea. If I had gone from living in L.A. to living in Seoul, that would have been more of a shock, temperature-wise.

Ella, did you live in the valley? I know I just checked the weather in Phx last night and it was 40 F but still....on Jan 2nd when we left Phx it was a beautiful day, just perfect weather and when we got here it was freezing (to me) - right now it's so cold outside I can't go anywhere unless I'm wearing long johns with hat & scarf! Crying or Very sad

Southern Arizona, by Tucson. It goes below freezing regularly during the winter. It snows in Tucson rarely, but it does snow.

77F is all the winter anyone needs, IMO. Smile

'zactly. I like winter, but only if there's snow. Otherwise, cold is pointless.

I wanna be in Alaska. Crying or Very sad

Shoveling snow? Don't complain. At least you're not dodging oncoming scooters and cars on your sidewalks. I miss living in a civilized society. How many more months left on my contract?

It's not boring, it's depressing. Brown and gray are not good substitutes for green leaves and grass.

if you prefer shoveling snow over dodging vehicles:

a) you sound like a bore
b) why oh why did you choose to come to Asia?

yes! you're on the rock as well?? i'm sure we are quite mental. it's the 1/2 hour walk to work that does me in...no sidewalks, so, traffic is whizzing by me, splashing me with slush, leaving me wondering how much it'd hurt to have my elbow hit by a side mirror, all that. then you finally get to work, and the day is longer than any day i worked in korea...and then home to cook some food, and it's out to shovel in the dark, before falling asleep to the sound of snow and wind at your window. mental. yes.

i miss the 15 min walk to work in korea with clean sidewalks...well, minus the spit gobs...and, well, the nights of not shovelling.
