Okay, I've been refused entry in the Shinchon and Gangnam clubs for the last several years because I'm "too old" (Christ, i was barely in my 30's the first time it happened). I could still get into the Hongdae clubs, so no problems...

Now it seems even the Hongdae clubs (some of them) have also decided my wrinkled white ass is no longer welcome there, either. *sigh*

I don't want to be relegated to Itaewon by default, so....

Anyone know where us "old" folks are supposed to be allowed entrance to enjoy some decent music and perhaps a little drink and dance? Where do the over-30 Koreans go to "shake their thang"? Or are they supposed to sit at home and wait for the Reaper once they hit 30?

Trot? I said DECENT music. I couldn't dance to Trot if I was wearing steel shoes on an electrified floor.

You'd think so the way I'm treated like I'm a damned leper.

After graduating to the rank of "salaryman," Korean men are no longer allowed to go to nightclubs unless they are overpriced and feature women who offer services for money.

They no longer go to places called "Keu-lub," preferring places called "Night-eu"

You should consider "Night-eu" "Ho-peu" "Ca-ba-ret" ""Bijiness Keu-lub" or just bypass all that for "Anma"

Heh.

Well, although it sucks, I'd say don't be too down. I lived in Gangnam for a year and really don't have much good to say about the clubs there anyhow.

Speaking of those, I walked into Seoul Pub for the first time a few nights back and thought I walked into an old folks home

Haha, you must be almost 14 years old, then and congrats for being let in at all...

Check out Le Club DeBut on I'taewon's Hooker Hill: It's full of groovy people that'll ruin your ideas about Old Folks - i.e., those over the age of thirty or so.

No offence intended: You might get a major woody for Ms. Kim - one of the bartenders with a great bottom, a nice-lookin' face, and a decent rack.

Night-eu and Ca-ba-ret, okay.

Ho-peu, no thanks, I already have my own regular watering holes.

Bijiness Keu-lub and Anma? WAY no thanks. I'm looking for a night on the town, not a way to burn 100,000s of won.

So... all these cabarets and such... are there any ones specifically that people could recommend (other than the one in Itaewon already mentioned). I was told of a few in Nowon, but no names or locations other than that were ever forthcoming.
