Is a simple visa clearance check sufficient, which checks only my local records, or must I get a comprehensive "live scan"? In America, the school usually provides the form. The PD does not have the form for the live scan.
I've sent the same question to my recruiter, but am looking for a native speaker's answer to keep things clear and simple.
What did you do? |

I'm not really sure what a live scan is. To get my background check I went to my state's---Pennsylvania---website, put in my information, and applied for the check there. It cost $10 and took a few weeks. My recruiter told me this was all I needed, and six months later I've never had any problems or been questioned about it. When I did it online I just printed out the results page when it was finished a few weeks later. It seemed really sparse, but when I checked with the police department back home they told me that the print out was satisfactory.
