|
|
I have a largish LCD TV weighing about 28KG. I want to take it back with me to Aussieland and was wondering if anyone has checked their TVs in at the airports? I'm just going back for a short time so I'm not taking a lot of things save for a backpack.
Or would it better to go through UPS or something? |

It will put you near or over your free weight allowance on most airlines (flights not going to North American destinations usually have 20k or 25k per person weight limit) as well as being oversized. You will have to pay extra for taking it with you on the airline.
Having said that, it may still be cheaper than sending it by freight or a delivery service. |

| Dude, I wouldn't trust an LCD TV in a thrower's hands to save my life. I'd rather take my chances by paying more for insured shipping. |

| is it just completely too big to carry on? I mean, it might be techincially, but we've all seen the crazy shit that they let Koreans carry on planes here. I wouldn't check it. I think it would either get broken or stolen |

A huge cloud of birds carrying a TV over the ocean. Classic.
How many pigeons will it take to get my piano to England? |

It would have to be domestically produced Asian pigeons as the import tax on foreign birds would be prohibitive.
Korean pigeons are easy to spot as they have LG stamped on their butts and are constantly flying into each other or getting sucked up by aeroplanes. |
