|
|
Around two weeks ago, I started, for the first time ever, to download torrents onto my Mac. (OS 10.4.8, 60g, G4, no intel) My Internet started to slow down and now, when it's available, is very, very slow. In fact, it times out.
Could I have a bug?
I switched off the "open files" switch on Safari.
My internet provider is Koreanet.
I've been using Transmission and mostly torrentspy.com to download.
I tried buying McAfee and Norton's antivirus software, but it doesn't look like I can download and purchase either in English from Korea.
'Been thinking of buying Little Snitch too.
Everything else, beside the net connection, works the same.
Any suggestions? |

It is possible that you need to alter your download and upload rate in whatever client you are using to download torrents. If you are using Acquisition, you can change these settings by opening preferences and clicking on the sharing tab.
xtorrent may also have a method of throttling upload and download speeds but i don't use it so perhaps someone else will chime in there.
good luck with it |

My internet got really slow last week, too. Now it's fine. There must have been some overall network problems. |
