Hey, I have downloaded some stuff, but the problem is is that the files are in ISO format. I'm not sure what to do with them. I can double-click on them, but there is just a whole bunch of other files inside. Can any of you Mac-savy people help me out?
Thanks, |

an ISO is a Disk Image file. think of it as a virtual CD or DVD. if it is a simple program, you only need to select the file out of it you want. if you need to install a full cd to get full access, you either need to mount the image or burn it to an actual disk to get full function out of it.
to mount (and burn) the image: rename the file to [name].dmg from [name].iso, open disk utility (applications, utilities, disk utility) and click on your [name].dmg file on the left. after you select it, choose mount on the top icon bar.
if you want to burn the image, hit command (apple button) and B at the same time.
hope that helps. |
