I often see girls saying how easily they can get the Pill in Korea and naming their favorite brands, but I was wondering what people are really using. |

I had too many options already, and that could fall under "Natural family planning." |

I tried using the pill and the injection but didn't like either. However except for one minor exception, condoms seem to do the trick. |

Wow...so far it looks like continuting to share advice and stories about the Pill and condoms really is realistic. Thanks for the evidence... |

I am gathering that it is much more difficult to get your hands on a preferred method of birthcontrol than it would be in Europe, N. America or Oz. I did voted for celibate in the poll. Went off birthcontrol a while ago since I didn't see the point in taking it when it was not really serving its original purpose anymore. Though, I was a pill and condoms sort of girl. I have yet to make the jump to Korea, but am planning to do so end of January. How difficult would it be for me to find adequate birthcontrol over there or is that something that I should deal with pre-departure?
Are IUD's any good, I rather like the idea of not having to bother with taking a pill. |

iuds are GREAT. the paragard is good for me b/c it doesnt contain any hormones. lasts for up to 10 years. i was cautioned by my doctor that the procedure to have it inserted would be uncomfortable, but i didnt suffer anything at all, no worse than a pap (which is nothing for me as well, but everyone's flower is different). the procedure took 10 minutes. my first couple menstrual cycles post iud were heavy and i had cramps (which i never had before), but that is normal and tapers off after a few months. it's been a year for me and everything is ok. wow, WAY more detail than i intended to write, sorry! im just very very supportive of family planning. |

I've tried 9 different pills till I found the right one for me, and I had Depo(injections) which caused me to gain mad weight and have a major acne explosion. I later learned from my doctor he would never recommend it for anyone with a history of acne, but the family planning clinic I'd been at had hyped it big time for me. I've stuck to Ortho tri-cyclen, Triquilar in Korea, and never had a scare, a miss or a problem. I take it monthly like prescribed, don't want to mess around with the taking it continuous-for-11-months-thing like a lot of women advocate lately. It's not broke, why try to fix it! |
