Okay, I admit it. "Cheaters" is a guilty pleasure of mine. I've been sad that I haven't been able to find it on the cable stations I get for more than a year.
Fret no more. Korea has it's own version called "Scandal". I'll be called a heretic by some, but Scandal has Cheaters beat.
Just finished watching a woman and her best friend(?) beat the crap out of another friend who was cheating with her husband, all while the husband was hiding in the bathroom. Then he comes out and starts wailing on the police officers in the room and the people holding the cameras. Beauty, eh?
Second story of the show a man was tracking his wife and her boy toy to a drivein theater (they still have them in Korea??). Guy and boy toy beat the crap out of each other, flinging chairs at each other and throwing "awesome" TKD kicks at each other, while the wife cries in the car.
Ahhh... my faith in TV is restored.
(with the cops on the scene, I imagine the cuckold have enough evidence for a divorce/arrest... and a sweet settlement to avoid jail time. Nice-uh!) |

Frankenstein,
I watched that episode with the guy at the drive-in theater.
Here's the kicker: the guy she was cheating with was her boyfriend's younger brother! Apparently the younger brother had papers showing she had been to the hospital from abuse from the older brother, so the younger brother had taken pity on her and then bada bing bada boom they were getting it on.
I love Cheaters, mainly because it's in English and Joey Grecko and Tommy Grand are so hilarious; Grecko is especially funny in how he acts like he cares, when they are so exploitive of these people. It's like Springer taken to another level.
* side note: One other funny thing I've noticed is they go out of their way to use big words on this show. Next time you watch, try to pick up on this. It's like every second word is from a thesaurus.
Joey: I'm Joey Grecko, and welcome to another scintilating episode of Cheaters. On today's show, we meet Chaniqua, a mild-mannered young lady who suspects her boyfriend may be transgressing their union. Cheaters is called to add solace to Chaniqua's turbulant heart, and to perhaps bring reciprocity from this betrayal. |

I was watching the episode muted while I was working online, so I probably missed a lot of what was going on. I had to rely on the subtitles. Even so, it was pretty sweet.
It was on one of the new cable channels. TVN?

Tommy didn't think the knife he caught was so funny. EDIT: oops, sorry, Joey caught the knife.

I saw a Korean episode of "Scandals" where the women thought her husband was cheating. But he wasn't, he was tailing his wife thinking she was cheating. So the camera crew confront him and he convinces them to follow his wife...
As it turns out his wife was bumping uglies with somebody. But its get better. It all began when the wife called her husbands co-worker to talk. She asked him if he thought her husband was cheating. The guy said for sure, so you and I should hook it up. As it turned out the husbands friend/co-worker started blackmailing the wife for sex or he was going to tell the husband his wife was cheating! Needless to say this was a huge blow-up when camera crews and all beat down the hotel room!

| I heard the Korean show is a mockumentary. It's all staged. |

Bingo. When Cheaters was in its heyday here on the Q channel, more than a few Korean friends told me that this concept would never fly in Korea. Plus those aforementioned scenarios of Scandals just seem too over the top and unbelievably convenient. |

yes, i watch cheaters only to have a laugh at grecko and grant. grant is especially funny when he hasn't shaved in a week and he asks the "vicitim" to elaborate on their sex life. what do koreans think when they watch shows like that? |

(1) if the plaintiff specifically mentions Cheaters or coming to Cheaters
(1) for every individual who is unemployed
(1) if the plaintiff is much older, uglier, or fatter than either or both the cheater and accomplice
(2) if the plaintiff is hotter than the cheater's accomplice
(2) if the plaintiff is gay
(2) if there is offspring involved
SURVEILLANCE
(1) if either the cheater or the accomplice's face is blurred
(1) every time a personal name is bleeped (this one could kill you)
(1) when the plaintiff calls the cheater on the phone
(1) if there is a motel or hotel involved
(1) if they drink
(2) for every accomplice past 1
(2) if drugs are involved
(2) if either couple is interracial
(2) if the cheater's accomplice is a friend, relative, coworker, or roommate of the plaintiff
(3) if the cheater's accomplice is a relative of the cheater
(3) if the cheater is "outed" when caught with an accomplice of the same sex
(3) when a hidden camera captures nudity which gets blurred.
(3) if the cheater is a prostitute
CONFRONTATION
(1) for every time either the cheater or the accomplice is referred to as a "gentleman"
(1) when Cheaters confronts the cheater
(1) if a car alarm is ever set off
(1) if the confrontation changes locations
(1) if anyone has a band shirt
(2) if the confrontation is at the cheater's work
(2) if the confrontation is at the plaintiff's home
(2) if the confrontation is at a motel
(2) if you ever see a Subway restaurant
(2) if the boys in blue arrive
(2) for everyone who cries
(2) if they lay siege to a home where they aren't allowed in
(2) when people in the background recognise the show and cheer
(3) when the cheater is caught in bed by the Cheaters crew and the plaintiff
THE CHEATER
(1) if the cheater lies to the plaintiff's face after being caught
(1) if the cheater denies being with the plaintiff or claims they already broke up
(1) when the cheater requests the cameras be turned off
(1) if the cheater turns and runs, and the cameras follow
(2) if the cheater is remorseless
(2) if the cheater says they love or don't love someone
(2) if the cheater is angry about being spied on
(2) if the cheater watches the footage of themselves cheating
(3) exactly these words: "not what it looks like"
THE PLAINTIFF
(1) if it turns out the plaintiff is the thing on the side
(2) if the plaintiff turns and runs, and the cameras follow
THE ACCOMPLICE
(2) if the cheater's accomplice didn't know about the plaintiff
(2) if the accomplice and the plaintiff fight each other

(1) if they promise to turn off cameras or give them privacy (+1 if they get the audio anyway)
(2) if the show is evicted from a home or business they can't legally enter
(2) when one of the crew, other than the host, is attacked
