|
|
I enjoy smoking, but lately it has drawn attention in the classroom. Yesterday a student was coughing and I asked if she had a cold? She said no, that she was reacting to the cigarette smell she got from me. I guess on my clothes. She stated that no one in her home smokes, so she is very sensitive to it. Last week we were dicussing health in another class and a student stated that she did not think I was very healthy because I smoked. Also, they knew it from the first day of class due to the smell.
Has any smohers here been xonfronted with this?

If the girl is that sensitive to smoke...she's screwed. Where does she live? Oh ya Korea. Everyone smokes. Even if her parents don't smoke she has to go outside and breath the wonderful air. DRAMA QUEEN |

I am a smoker...and I do know that it stinks......my clothes, hair and breath stink. I make it a habit out of respect for the non smokers to not smoke before going to work and refrain until after work. My thought is this....if I can fly on a plane for 10 hours and go without a smoke....I can certainly go 6 hours at school without one.
It's difficult to quit. |

Dude just stop smoking in your damn house. That's your problem right there.
I smoke but I've never gotten a single comment about it from students. I even take smoke breaks during school hours.
Tips:
1. When you smoke, go outside. Do NOT smoke inside, ever.
2. While outside smoking, try to stand so that the wind is blowing away from you. This will keep the smoke from saturating your clothes and hair.
3. After smoking, immediately wash your hands well with soap.
4. Of course, pop in some kind of breath mint, or even better, a small snack such as bread. The snack will soak up a lot of the smokey odor.
If your smoking is so bad that people are gagging from the emanation you emit, it's time for a change in hygienic practice. Many people I know are surprised when they find out I smoke. Do it up right, my brother. |

I have been smoking for over 10 years but quit cold turkey this year. It's been 30 days since I touched one and it's still very agonizing. |

Jeezus Christ, most Korean men positively reek of cigarette smoke.
That kid needs to not single out the foreigner. |

I tell my kids that smoking is good for you, and it looks cool too. They don't say anything after that. |

Yeah, smoke outside. Although cloves smell good, and that's all I smoke, so I'm pretty in the clear. |

where do you get clove cigarettes?
I live in an upstarirs department. It would be a major hassle to dress and go downstairs each time I wanted a smoke. Also, I tend to smoke when working at my computer doing lessons and grades etc. |

I'm still in the US, so I'm not the one to ask. I get mine at gas stations and liquor stores. Djarum Blacks are what I smoke, and they taste oh-so-wonderful. |

Yeah, but in a hagwon 90% of the staff are usually chicks who don't tend to smoke so a smoker sticks (or smells) out.
I think the Indonesian restaurant next to the 3 alleys sells cloves. Oh and Qinella's tips are the way to go. |

2/3 of male Korean teachers smoke like chimneys and nobody cares. Why should you so long as you're male? |

Most packs advise that smoking is bad for your health, but not linked to dyslexia. |
