I was just wondering coz I'm chinese and will be heading to seoul to start teaching in just over a week's time.
I'm thinking that non-korean asians are indeed rare? |

I know a few Chinese in Seoul, but not English teachers. Usually Chinese are here for business purposes. |

I'm Chinese. Be prepared to have everyone speak to you in Korean, especially when you are you with Caucasian coworkers, etc |

We have about 30 Mongolians studying Korean at our university. They look so much like Koreans, it's difficult to tell them apart.
I had a Chinese friend 4 years ago. She moved to California, and she was sure interesting. She wasn't the least bit shy to say exactly what was on her mind, or what she thought of something. Very direct. |

I've heard there are lots of native-born Koreans teaching ESL. |
