|
|
Last weekend, I tried burning a DVD, and even though I was only burning less than 2 GB and the DVD was a 4.7 GB, at the very end of the burning process, when it's finished copying everything and closing up the DVD or whatever, an error appeared and said that I suddenly was over the limit by 650 MB..
Now, when I put in a blank DVD, My Computer says that it's a CD drive, and it says that the blank DVD's all of 0 bytes of free space...
I reinstalled my DVD writer software (I think), and that didn't do anything...Does anyone have any suggestions? Does this sound like a broken DVD player or a software issue or a driver issue?
Thanks... |

Sounds like you have a CD-RW/DVD player NOT a DVD burner....
Read and write CD's .... read DVDs.... |

Then go into the control panel, performance and maintainence, system, click the hardware tab, click device driver, click CD/DVD ROM drives and update/reinstall the device the driver from the hardware CD or download it from the net and reinstall it. |

Might be fried. I had an LG that was doing the same. Had it "repaired" - still would not burn DVDs, although CDs would burn fine. I had had it for a little over two years and I think I literally burned the $hit out of it. I said screw it and went and bought a new one for 60, and keep the other for backup. You can get the newer LGs for only 40 these days. |

Somehow I fixed it....I reinstalled my DVD writer and then updated my Samsung firmware with Toshiba (according to advice on the internet).
It still says my blank dvd's have 0 bytes of free space when I click on my computer, but....ohwell.. |
