...you're wearing a nicotine patch, chewing nicotine gum, and smoking a Malboro you bummed off the foreigner, all at the same time.

... both the ma and pa at the corner store have a packet of your prefered blend waiting on the counter for you, even when it's just a pack of mok-candy for a dry throat that you popped in for,

their look of disbelief when you brush off their offer with a chuckle!

Nicotine isnt that addictive. People just think its difficult to quit because theyve been brainwashed into thinking that.

That is so true...i stopped on new years eve and i kept it up till now and i kept thinking all the time that something's wrong because it's not that difficult
It isnt that hard and like Jinju said we just think it is
What makes it hard for some people is their stubborness

the nicotine craving only REALLY lasts for a few hours. It stays in your system for a few days.

It's the habit that people are addicted to.

Its not a tobacco creation but one of those urban myths that just developed...like a mass dellusion. If you cant quit smoking you are either brainwashed or extremely weak.

The only time I really need a smoke is when I'm drinking. It's the habit that I'm attached to. I'll wake up on a Sunday and won't have another smoke till Friday when I'm about my 3rd drink in. Moderation is key (even though I have a propensity to smoke a whole pack when I'm getting drunk.....).

You know you're ....

-- when you wake up in the middle of the night for a ciggy break.

-- when you stop in the middle of a meal and take a ciggy break

-- when your local shop... well Shit, someone already mentioned it

-- when, instead of making it last, you race to your climax so you can take a ciggy break

Used to smoke, don't anymore. I mean, except after sex. And then it's a whole carton. Shocked

I can quit whenever I get a bad chest cold. The secret is never giving in and having "just one" later on. Gets me every time. I agree that it's easy to quit once the first few days go by, but first you have to really want to quit.

Most people don't really want to, they just know that they should.

I don't think that weakness is the reason people can't quit. I think it's motivation.
