I have two differnet classes, one studying English Time 4 and the other studying English Time 2. The textbooks are great but some of the kids are having some difficulty, especially with the ET2 class. According to the course outline for the classes, I'm also supposed to be finishing using the textbooks for those classes, but I don't think the kids are ready for ET5 and ET3.

I've had a conversation about re-teaching some of the textbook with my other teacher and supervisor but they're not crazy about the idea. They want to push the kids ahead to ET5 and ET3. Is there any other textbook series that I can use that are similar to ET4 and ET2? Any other ideas?

Let's Go isn't as good, but its not bad. Its a bit of a different format, so the kids might not realize they are learning the same thing over and over. I haven't taught it for a few years, so you might want to take a look at a sample copy to see what they should move on to.

Also, the English Land books aren't great, but they're alright too. Very differnt format form ET. My kids respond quite well to them actually because they use disney characters. They might be kind of a nice review, change of pace book, for a short time before you move on to the next ET in the series.

The English Time series pretty much re-covers the main points in each successive volume, so they can probably hang with the new book.

Or, from English Time 2 you could jump to Let's Go 2 or 3, from English Time 4 you could go to Let's Go 5.

There are many other book series. I'm always having to jump around because my hogwan is very small and is always adding students who have done a few of the books elsewhere and of course you can't use a book if even one student has already done it.

Alright, thanks for the help. Let's Go seems to be a pretty popular choice, I'll try and sell my director on that. Some of my older kids used the TakeOff Series and I'll prolly look at some of the earlier Longman texts, as well.
Cheers

Another thing you can do is call the publisher (Oxford, in the case of English Time) and explain that you need a bridging text between English Time 2 and 3 and see what they recommend. If there are specific grammar points that are challenging for your students, be sure to know what they are and tell them that the bridging text needs to cover those points.

It seems I've been beaten to the punch, but I agree what has been said here about using Let's Go for in between books.

I usually taught Magic Time in conjunction with Mr. Bugs Phonics 1 and 2 and then proceeded on to English Time (ET), and Let's Go (LG).

ET1 >> LG1 (if the class needs some review or you are forced finish faster)
ET2 >> LG2 (if the class needs some review or you are forced finish faster)
ET3 >> LG3 (a MUST since the jump from ET3 to ET4 is so huge)
ET4 >> LG4 (a MUST since the jump from ET4 to ET5 is so huge)
ET5 >> LG5 (a MUST since the jump from ET5 to ET6 is so huge)
ET6 >> LG6 (if the class needs some review or you are forced finish faster)

If you really HAVE TO, you could even throw a Smile book in between the levels of English Time and Let's Go pairs as seen above, though be aware that it is a pretty crappy series, and the book numbers don't match up perfectly with ET and LG books. For example, if you need a filler book between:
ET1/LG1 >> Smile 2
ET2/LG2 >> Smile 3
ET3/LG3 >> Smile 4

You get the picture!
