My wife just came over here on a spousal visa, my query is...does she need to get an Alian registration card? And if she does, what is the time frame for applying?
Thanks in advance! |

WHy does it matter where she is from?
If she intends to stay here for longer than 30 days she needs an ARC... |

Okay 30 or 90 days...guess I'll have to contact immy on the exact time frame. How about medical? Does she have to get that? |

No. You cover her - you might have to pay a tad more for family rate, though. Not sure. Tell your employer about your wife and ask them to put her on your card. |

If you wife is on an F3 family visa she has to apply for her ARC. She MUST apply for it within her first 90 days in the country on her visa.
She will need 2 passport type photos, a signed application, her passport and 10,000 won. If you want to get her a re-entry permit at the same time add 50k more won for the multi-entry.
They will take it all from her and give her a receipt for it. She can pick it up in about 7 days or alternatively, have it delivered.

If you work for a school that actually has you on the NHIC then you simply ask them to add her to it AFTER she gets her ARC.
There is NO extra fee (I pay the rate same now as I did before my wife came here and had we have since had a baby as well). You will get your new booklet in about 10 days. |

What is she, like 17 now? Did you get a note from her parents so that the customs people know not to stop her at the border? |
