I can think of a couple of times where I used it to avoid looking foolish in public. I know thats sad, but true. What about you have you used the cell phone as a way to avoid someone or get out of a situation.

Sorry for those of you who don't own a cellphone, just say no.

The other day I was on the subway and an old guy gave me his seat. He struck up a friendly conversation with me for a couple stops before I got off. Unlike when this usually happens, the guy was very courteous. When the subway was pulling into the station and I was saying bye, my phone started vibrating. It was my wife. As I talked to her I hoped the guy didn't think I was having a fake call.
