I have the perfect solution.
It has been 'Sea of Japan' in English for a long time, but Korea wants to change it.
I say let them have their cake but don't let them eat it. We can change it, but not to what they want.
I came up with the perfect name.

Howabout "The West Sea of Japan" for the east sea and "The East Sea of China" for the yella sea to the west of Korea. I think I should call VANK with my excellent plan, I'm sure they'll be down with it.
I also like "The Pacific Ocean" for the water to the east of Korea which is part of the Pacific Ocean if they're not down with my other idea. Either that or the "Sea of Takeshima".
By the way, how long is it until Takeshima day? It's in about March or maybe May or something isn't it? I chopped off one of my thumbs tonight in preperation..(I'm saving my "fire show" for the day itself) |

We should continue to call it the Sea of Japan and Koreans should just shut the *beep* up and deal with it. Japan is the big boy around here. If absolutely necessary, let's call it the Sea of Japan and Korea, but East Sea is garbage. Something can only be east relative to something. "East Sea" logically equals "Sea of Korea". The North Sea, between Britain and northern Europe, works because the north is not relative. We have a North and South Pole and a Northern and Southern Hemisphere. There is no objective dividing line between east and west.
The more Koreans whine about this, the more hardened my opinion becomes.....Dokdo is a tiny piece of shit and the crappy bit of water separating Japan and Japan-lite is the SEA OF JAPAN because (a) that's what my British maps say and the Brits are never wrong, (b) Japan kicked Korea's ass. |

I thought LONG ago it was called (at least on some maps) The Oriental Sea? What's wrong with that? That Korea doesn't get to own the name like East Sea? |

Korea wouldn't stand for that. Look at their name. East Sea. The polar opposite of that wouldn't be acceptable, as it would reference the sea being West of Japan. The only way that it'd be acceptable is if anything to do with the geography and whereabouts of Japan is not mentioned. So it'd have to be something that puts the continent into context, rather than the countries in it. Maybe Northeast Asian Sea or something. |

Since it's gotta be in English, let's help'em solve it once and for all and just call it "Sea of Visa" or "Visa Run Crossing" or ...ah, we should just take control of it. |

"Blue Sea/청해" isn't taken. Plus, that would let Vietnam have 'East Sea':
