When in doubt, use the truth and hope for the best. (My friend Soon-Jin says it is pretty cheap to have an arm or leg broken.)

I vote for the truth. Tell your boss that the position you are in just isn't right for you. And you feel that you are doing the school, the kids and everyone involved a diservice by being there. Tell them that you don't feel that you can give your 100%, and thus the children are losing out.

Not all bosses will agree, but if you approach it correctly, and show him that he would benefit by you leaving, then he might give you the release you no hesitation.

I had a teacher come to me this week and say that the position wasn't right for him and he needed to move on. I agreed, and we let him go. I would suggest that you give him, as your contract states, the appropriate time, be it a month, or whatever is stipulated in your contract.

Just go in very pleasant, and stay cool. Good luck.

Tell them you found a different school and want to leave.

Then, you can suggest that you can write an English LoR and all they have to do is to sign [stamp] it.
In some instances, you can get away with having an English LoR for immigration purposes.
If you need a Korean one, spend the money (which might be a worthy investment to get out of the school you're working for) to get the English LoR translated into Korean by a translation consultant (or have a Korean friend do it) and then present both to be signed [stamped]

So I just need them to stamp the LOR.

This is going to get messy.....but I think I'll be happier in the long run

BTW, Big Buds posted an example of an LOR a little while back. Search his posts, and you should be able to find it. It is in English and Korean. The stamp on it needs to be the big official school stamp, and not the Wanjang's personal stamp.

I got one by having a list of all the parents' phone numbers and a bilingual Korean friend, and then scarring the shit out of wongjonnim-babo.

Sometimes blackmail works...really.

If your boss is crooked and you know he isn't paying taxes, you could threaten him with a visit to the tax office. You'd be surprised how willing he is to give a LOR.

The same is true if he has any foreigners without degrees or visas (even temporarily) or is employing Koreans to teach kindergarten if they don't have ECE credentials.
