Hey all. My USB Memory Key got thrown through the wash, twice apparently, and now it is not functioning. This is the 2nd time this has happened. The first time it functioned no problem and has worked well since that about a year ago. But not this time.
Anyone know anywhere that can salvage the data on the disc? Or is it gone? I really would appreciate the help as it's got my last years' worth of work on it. I'd really hate to lose all of that.
Thanks in advance.

Has it totally dried-out?
A friend of mine spilled a beer in her laptop. Actually, someone else did. It didn't work, and she was quoted $600 to fix it. She decided to just buy another one when she had enough money. A month later, she plugged it in, and it worked! She eventually had to replace the keyboard and have it cleaned out, though.
My jeweler-friend used to dry out wristwatches by setting them under a warm lamp for a few days. |

I blew some compressed air into it to try to get the water out...there was a lot! And I let it dry overnight. Still no joy. Looks like it's dead.
So the question is still...can the data somehow be retrieved by A/S or anything?

Well, 2 days since I pulled it out of the washing machine...and it works again! I moved all of the data off of it to my hard drive. I think I'm gonna retire it and use a new one I ordered today. It's even an upgrade (128mb to 1GB).
Cheers for reading.
