|
|
Yes there is nothing on TV anymore so I am forced to watch Lance doing reductions. At first it was sad seeing him pinned behind a table clutching to it for dear life. Oh how I missed the Lance of old prancing around on stage teaching us how to say "I'm allergic to peaches" and "Where is the portable gas grill? It must be here somewhere"
But then I got angry. As if these poor Koreans didn't have enough to worry about while learning English, now they have to learn a whole new way of pronunciation, that of the slack-jawed North American. Myself being one of them but still I like to speak clearly when addressing others and I don't think teaching people how to say "Zit" instead of "Is it" or "Does it" and my personal favorite "how muh chiz" instead of "How much is" is doing anyone any good.
I bet you don't even know what side of his head he parts his hair on these days |

I really detest teaching "American" pronunciation (even though I am American). Korean English needs to be seen as a dialect rather than a corruption of English... and that goes for every English-speaking society. |

The ability to speak and understand Korean English makes living and working in Korea much easier. Too bad there's no market for it anywhere else. |

Don't you know? He won the Tour De France like sixteen times or something. |

OK, no, that was Lance Armstrong who won the TdF. I'm not sure who this other guy is either, but more importantly, what on God's green earth is a "reduction"? Doesn't this have something to do with cooking?
