1) any mac users out there? i just got back from vacation with a new mac laptop & am sad to see that most of their help options are difficult to access outside of the states, esp if you're looking for specific 'training' in their programs. anyone aware of any networks/groups for mac users in SK?
2) i'm moving to busan at the end of may-- meanwhile a pal in seoul has offered to sell me a really cool motorbike extremely cheap but i have to say yay/nay by this weekend. can i ride it between cities? |

I used to be part of the Seoul Mac Users Group (yes, we were SMUG ) way back a long ways. I don't know if they acttually still meet, or who to contact even if they did. We did meet around the Shinchon area when there was a SMUG. |

There are 4 Mac service centers that opened up w/in the last year in Seoul. They are AUTHORIZED service centers, not like the Mac stores (there is one, or was one, in COEX mall).
You can call Apple and get their info.
I can't find the info right now, but there is one at Jonggak station on line 1. Exit next to the YMCA. Take your next left. After the small buildings on your right, the tall building will have a "JR service center" on the top floor. There is no outside sign, so ask the security desk for JR service center. Go to the top floor on the elevator, then take the stairs to the real top floor.
They are open 5 days a week until 7 (I think) and Saturday until 12 or 1. Once again, call Apple for exact info.
Sorry I can't help you out in Busan, and I haven't ever hear of an Apple center there. |

Not in Korea yeat, but I'm an experienced Mac user. What kind of training or help are you looking for? Software or Hardware? the online options at www.apple.com/support are great as are the discussion boards there. |

All of this info is repeated on a weekly basis, it seems, in the Tech Forum. |

There's also a mac service store right outside shinsa station (신사 역). They fixed my macbook when it was on the fritz, and the u-base center right outside coex fixes all ipods fairly quickly.
Unfortunately mac users are at quite a distinct disadvantage in Korea. Virtually no computer "experts" here (whether it be at your school or the peeps who install your internet) will know what a mac is. In the stores they have beautful macbooks running Windows XP. Sigh. |
