And what does "region free" refer to exactly?
Fill me in, I'm ignorant in these matters.
Thanks Kimcheeking. |

Region-free means it can play DVDs from anywhere. The world is divided up into 6 (5? I dunno) DVD "regions", and a DVD from Korea in theory shouldn't be able to play in North America. It's an attempt to impede bootleg movies from one part of the world.
But many DVD players have "hacks" that will allow them to defeat this scheme.
KK- did you happen to get the model number of that player? It could very well be hackable. The boxes always say "only for X region...", so you can't go by that. Also, a particular player may be known as a different model, sold by a different manufacturer, but with the same guts. |

No I didn't and this was a few months ago.... It was very basic and couldn't play cd-rs so i didn't really care too much except that the price was cheap. |
