Hey,
I've been having some serious issues with my 9 month old macbook. The most recent occurred today after I picked it up from the service centre and had a new battery and ethernet card installed.
The issue is that twice when surfing the net I got a box that popped up that said in English, French, German and Japanese:
You must shut your computer down. Hold down the power button until it shuts down...
That's not an exact quote, but close enough. What I was doing when the message popped up was surfing the net, one time I was looking loading Doonesbury on Slate, and I don't remember what I was looking at the other time, but something equally as benign. I think both sites may have been starting/using java when the error occurred, but that's a complete guess.
Any thoughts, suggestions or advice??? |

I can't resist and I apologize in advance. . .
You are obviously mistaken because nobody could ever conceivably have a problem with an Apple product. |

This is a new one on me.
I have a discolored palmrest, and had the random shutoffs.
Things go wrong with Apple products, just less frequently and slightly more gracefully. |

Here here's my 2 cents. A friend took her ibook in to get it serviced. A month later still problems. She called and asked me to take a look. There were at least 6 screws missing from the back and the case was crooked! |
