Have you heard of this place? I am 99% I'm going to take another Uni job but this one just sent me an email and offered lots of money with few details. I can't seem to find anything on the internet.. I've found mention of a technical college and a "provincial college" but not even an official website (I tried www.geochang.ac.kr with no results)

Is this perhaps some hagwan aimed at University students trying to suck me in with CDI style pay possibilities

Or is it a genuine provincial college/uni trying to hire one foreigner with great pay? (3.5m)

They made no mention of vacation in their initial email. That is obviously a huge factor. My current Uni offer is full vacations, though with not so good pay (1.8! )

Did you accept the job? Check everything before you take it especially the teaching hours and the teaching schedule if it's a split schedule or block. You might be offered a schedule with 2 hours in the morning, 2 hours in the afternoon and another 2 in the evening. Check if you are required to stay in the school premises for 8 hours even though you have no class. It's a public college and not a university but it's a provincial college. pm for more information.

Have you accepted the Geochang job?

If so - they should pay your airfare. Wheather before you leave or refund after you land.

Sending docs to a recruiter is normal if working through a recruiter!

If you are coming without a visa. The college "should" pay for your visa run to Japan. It is illegal to work ven a minute without your visa!!! be careful.
